Do you have kids that are afraid to try new things and thus haven’t discovered the deliciousness that is pumpkin pie?! Here is the perfect solution- Rice Krispie Treats Pumpkin Pie.
It is easy to create this Thanksgiving treat! It is as simple as making regular Rice Krispie Treats and molding them into a faux pumpkin pie complete with whipped cream. Yum!
Rice Krispie Treats Pumpkin Pie is the perfect Thanksgiving dessert for kids! Your kids will LOVE this!
The only ingredients that are needed for this that aren’t typically used in Rice Krispie Treats are food colors and almond extract. The almond extract makes regular Rice Krispie Treats even better! You need to try this!
A few other ‘extras’ are whipped cream in a can and orange sprinkles. You can be creative with the toppings! Let the kids help! Here is the recipe:
Spray bottom of pie plate with non-stick cooking spray. Gather all ingredients. For best results I use Kraft small marshmallows and Kellogg's Rice Krispies.
Melt butter over low heat and add in marshmallows. Continue cooking on low heat until marshmallows are melted.
Remove half of the marshmallow mixture and place in separate bowl. This will be used for coloring.
Add in red and yellow food coloring until it appears a nice orange color. Set aside.
Prepare the other half of the melted marshmallows by adding 3 cups of the Rice Krispies to the white marshmallows. Press this mixture into the bottom of your pie plate, molding it like a pie crust.
Mix the colored marshmallows with remaining 3 cups of cereal. Press this into the center of the 'crust.' Top with some orange sprinkles or orange sugar if desired.
Slice the pie into 6 or 8 pieces.
Top with whipped cream if desired. Enjoy!
