Do you have themed birthday parties for your little ones??? Perhaps I go a little overboard, especially for the girls. This year was no exception! Here is a quick recap of the fun we had celebrating Isabelle’s 7th birthday. The inspiration for this came from Callie. Last summer she had a great Stickers and Stilettos summer party with a make-your-own sundae tower!
Izzy loves teal! Light teal and pink are always great for an ice cream theme…think mint and strawberry 🙂 Most of the pink and teal party supplies can be found at Hobby Lobby.
Everyone loved the flowers. They were so easy to make with pink and white carnations and a red craft ball from the dollar store. That is just a plastic straw. It was nice to save the flowers for a while after the party to bring some sunshine to the girls’ bedroom.
The idea for the cake and cupcakes came from a pinterest search. The turned over cone look is perfect because it can be messy (if you are not the best cake decorator) and still be cute. The cupcakes were similar and the frosting was a canned frosting with cherry flavor…so it was already pink! Cherry flavor with funfetti cake was a delicious combo. The mini cones were found here.
The cookies were just Nutter Butter cookies dipped in white chocolate bark. Bonus if you can find the marshmallow flavored bark. Yummo! The kids love helping to make these and they are so easy and cute. We make them for a lot of birthdays at our house. You need to try these this summer!!! Also included on the dessert table were those cute old fashioned pink wafer cookies that you used to have at your grandma’s house. Remember those?! So cute and surprisingly addicting!
The great sundae topping tower was borrowed from Callie as well as the glassware. The paper topping cups were from Hobby Lobby. The kids (and adults) loved building their sundaes. Toppings included were snickers, oreo, heath, pecans, and the teal Sixlets from Hobby Lobby, just to name a few.
Definitely a party favorite were the cotton candy ice cream cones! These were so easy and cute. Kids love cotton candy and it happened to match the theme. The little tubs of cotton candy are at a lot of grocery stores. Even smaller town stores! Just break off a little piece and fill the cone. These were a take home treat for the kids. This camera was used to take a quick picture of each guest and the birthday girl. Then it could be attached to the take home treat.
We had our favorite face painter come and all of the girls selected an adorable ice cream cone design on their cheeks. It was a birthday to remember!
