It is officially October and that means I can begin to go over the top with holiday treats! Let’s get started! ?
This year I was super bummed to find out that M&M’s discontinued my favorite harvest M&M’s. I have not been able to find them anywhere! Those are the colors that I loved to use in my Brain Food and in cookies etc. Am I the only one who noticed??? (Probably!)
Now I have switched over to M&M’s ghoul mix and decided to use it to create a yummy treat. This is great for a party or for classroom treats. You could serve this to family and friends that come over to help you pass out candy on Halloween.
This treat mix was also inspired by candy eyeballs. What optometrist doesn’t love to stock up on all things eye related at Halloween? The eyeballs make anything look spooky. Check out the pretzels!
Melting the pretzels a bit in the microwave allows you to stick the eyes right on! Then all you need to do is mix in Muddy Buddies (aka puppy chow), raisins, mini Oreo Thins, Halloween M&M’s, and additional yogurt or white chocolate covered pretzels. You may add any of your family’s favorites but I found myself trying to stick to ‘black and white’ colors. If you find yourself with extra candy eyes…throw them right in the mix!
In the recipe below you can find the measurements that you will need to make a large bowl.
Affix candy eyeballs to yogurt or chocolate covered pretzels. Do this by heating small batches of pretzels in the microwave for around 10 seconds. The coating becomes just soft enough to attach the candy eyes. Let them cool completely.
Mix all other ingredients together and top with pretzel ghosts.
Enjoy!

Serve it in a big bowl, or cauldron or pack it into little treat bags. You can also use a black permanent marker on a plastic cup to make a ‘ghost’ face.
I hope you and your ghosts and goblins enjoy this mix as much as I do!
