This Funfetti cake batter dip only uses 4 ingredients, tastes like cake batter, and is perfect to dip crackers, pretzels, and even fruit in. Shape it into a bunny and it is the perfect (and easy) Easter appetizer.
After the winter that just wouldn’t quit, we are all rejoicing in the fact that Easter is only a few days away. That means spring is not far behind! Warmer temperatures, open windows with fresh air, green grass, and spring cleaning are some of my favorite things.
Another one of my favorite things is licking cake batter when whipping up a cake. It is so hard to resist not licking the beaters or sticking my finger in, just for a little taste!
This recipe for Funfetti cake batter dip is perfect, because you will not need to resist the temptation of doing a little taste testing while making it. It is completely safe to eat, since there are no raw eggs and Pillsbury has now changed their boxed cake mixes to where you no longer need to worry about eating the raw flour in their mixes. So stick your finger in as much as you’d like while making this yummy dip!
If you are still trying to come up with a quick and easy recipe to take along to your Easter gathering, check out this adorable bunny “cheese ball”. Usually cheese balls are savory, but this one is definitely just the opposite! It is a sweet dip that pairs perfectly with graham crackers, Nilla wafers, pretzels, and even fruit, such as strawberries or grapes.
How cute would this little bunny be as a centerpiece placed on an Easter charcuterie board like Kelly is famous for making! Adorable!
If you decide to shape the dip into a bunny, here are some tips:
— After mixing the batter, place in the fridge for 30 to 60 minutes so that it is easier to handle. It is really sticky!
— Place the batter in Saran Wrap when shaping into the bunny so that it is not quite so messy
— After shaping a big ball for the bunny body, place it onto the serving platter that you plan to serve it on. Then place the two smaller balls for the bunny feet and a smaller ball on the top for the tail. This will prevent ruining the bunny if you later try to move it to a platter.
— You can add more sprinkles to the batter if you would like to add more color
— I sprinkled some clear sprinkles onto the bunny, just to add some sparkle to it. You could always roll it in coconut, as well.
If you are like me, and always looking for a quick and easy recipe that is sure to be a crowd-pleaser, this is perfect for you!
In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to beat the cream cheese and Cool Whip until combined and smooth.
Using a spatula or wooden spoon, stir in the cake mix and milk until well combined. The batter will be thick. If too thick, add more milk, a tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency.
Add additional sprinkles, if desired.
Place in refrigerator for 30-60 minutes.
Place a large ball of batter for the bunny body onto a piece of Saran Wrap and shape into a ball. Place on the serving platter.
Place a smaller ball of batter for the bunny foot onto a piece of Saran Wrap and shape into a ball. Position on the platter, next to the bunny body, flattening a bit to shape into a foot. Repeat with another ball of batter to make the other foot.
Add pink M&Ms or Jelly Beans to the foot.
Place a small ball of batter for the bunny tail onto a piece of Saran Wrap. Place on the top of the bunny body.
Store in the refrigerator.
Serve with dippers, such as graham crackers, pretzels, Nilla Wafers, Teddy grahams, strawberries, grapes, apples.
Enjoy!
